Melanated Rhapsody is a powerful ode to the experience and creativity of the modern self aware and self astute Black man. It reveals the hypocrisy, imagination, education and complexities of the Black community. Anonymous Onyx is at times very opinionated and controversial but at other times very emotional and sensitive. This is an analytical and very introspective journey that can also be very mature and raw in content. It is written in an educated yet urban vernacular. This masterpiece is literal, allegorical, metaphorical, sensual and rhythmic. This book will provoke discussion and will affirm the power and beauty of language. Melanated Rhapsody is like wine, sweet and/or dry and sometimes strong but always gets better with time.

About The Author

Anonymous Onyx is 'the universal Black man'. We can't tell you much about him because as his name implies he is anonymous. He is also known as the unapologetic observer. He writes what his eyes see or his third eye experienced. What we can tell you is that he is a word traveller, martial artist, former Wall Street Banker, an HBCU Alumnus, a Summa Cum Laude - Phi Beta Kappa Graduate, and most important a Proud Father.

I could not put this book down. Anonymous Onyx through imagery and poetry discusses what the African American community in general and the Black man in particular go through. He addresses some very personal subject matters that most men would not share. I can pick this book up at any time and find a poem that speaks to me. Some make me laugh and some make me cry. I give this book four stars. It is daring, critical, suggestive, at times erotic, motivational, political, spiritual. He is definitely a fan of Hip Hop and music and some of his best poems highlight his love for that genre. A Must Buy!!!
